Once a thought of science fiction, online classes and Zoom meetings have now become common in many of our daily lives. There’s no wonder virtual learning and working can feel so overwhelming at times… the human brain is just beginning to adjust to it!
You may still remember a time when technology was not readily accessible, or not at all. Just don’t forget that most young children don’t yet have the same perspective.
For the kids who have grown up around technology, they are often very comfortable with managing it. Yet they often also have high expectations for themselves when it comes to coping with the use of it.
Sure online games and shows are captivating enough to do almost anytime, but children and adolescents may not always be in the mood to stare at a computer screen to learn.
Finding fun & engaging online classes for kids is not as hard as you might think.
It can be easy for kids to disengage during online learning when they are thinking about something else from their day. It is common for students to lose interest in class when the content is not applicable and engaging.
Asking a child to stop what they’re doing for class time can be tricky. Even if they were super excited about class the evening prior, sometimes they aren’t feeling it once class time rolls around.
Thankfully, there may be a different option that can prevent them from being late and losing attention.
Flexible online learning caters to kids’ varying energy levels, interests, and abilities.
I know it’s hard trying to schedule time when you or your kid will be ready to stare at a computer screen, and that’s why I offer many of my top online classes for kids in a FLEX format.
All courses, FLEX and the limited time LIVE ones, are organized on the popular educational platform Outschool, where you can check out the week-by-week plans for each class.
FLEX content consists of a combo of weekly discussions, short pre-recorded lectures, and online resources such as websites, games, and videos. These resources can be accessed by students when they want each week.

With the increase in flexible online learning many students have also gained the ability to cater to their specific needs. For instance, in this format of online classes for kids, autistic students are better able to regulate themselves by having more time and space to pay attention to their sensory needs.
By studying the basics of brains and psychology, the classes I offer are also useful in improving a child’s patience with themselves and their understanding of others.
While taking inspiration from university level curriculum, I designed these psychology for kids courses to be fun and engaging.
Using games and other fun activities, the course content pushes each student to develop more belief in their ability to grow and adapt.

Don’t Miss Out on These Online Classes For Kids that Foster Healthy Development

Certain skills are incredibly important as you move through life, like being able to write and effectively communicate your ideas. Writing skills can be super difficult for many children to master. Often, writing is seen more as work than anything fun, so in my course on Writing Silly Stories, we focus on the value in having fun and trying your best.
It is not fun to struggle, but it’s even less fun if you think things won’t get better. Imagine being seven years old and thinking the only reason you can’t dunk a basketball is because you’re bad at it. It would be very easy to give up if you didn’t realize it was simply more growth that needed to happen first. This applies to many areas of life including being able to work through your own emotions. Teaching kids about the brain can help them learn about how a growth mindset can help us calm down in times of high stress.
